Lately I’ve been seeing “goji berries” popping up in the stores in the natural food sections.
Ho-Hum
Of course these are all the rage right now.
Goji berries might be good for what ails you
Also known as the “wolfberry and the “matrimony vine,” goji berries are the fruit of a woody perennial from China. They’ve been a mainstay of traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years.
As they say, go read the rest. You shouldn’t be surprised to see China being mentioned prominently. According to those who are into all this stuff, China is the place of miracles. If we just did everything they did in old Chinese medicine, we’d all live to be 1001 at least.
Makes me tired.
However, the Whole Foods store where I shop sells Dark chocolate covered Goji Berries. They are very very good. They taste like dark chocolate covered raisins. Of course if they didn’t have the chocolate, I would never have bothered to buy them. Now I’ll have to wonder if I am getting the health benefits from the berries or the chocolate… what a dilemma!

I prefer my chocolate dark… not milky. But one company is trying to change things up.
Camel milk chocolate company Al Nassma hopes to be ‘Godiva of the Middle East’
I have to say it does not sound at all appealing to me.
Dubai-based Al Nassma is the world’s first brand of chocolate made with camels’ milk, and it hopes to start selling its sweet treats in the United States in the next few months, according to Reuters.
There will be some who hate it or love it based on who is producing it. I’ll just stick with looking at it as a food instead. I don’t like milk chocolate (too sweet) I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t matter what kind of milk was used.
I can’t imagine I would like camel milk, I might be wrong on that. Of course if someone offered me some, I’d try it. But I don’t even like Hershey Kisses anymore since I stopped eating additives (they now taste metallic to me) which means I am not their demographic. Judging by the kinds of things I have seen other people eat, they may be a smashing success.
I’ll wait and see. I won’t be first in line though. Heh.
